Description
Bladderwrack is traditionally harvested in the Spring/Summer months cut by hand or raked. This is mainly because mechanical methods of harvesting cannot be applied to this seaweed. It naturally contains three components – Iodine, Alginic Acid and Fucoidan. Iodine supports thyroid function making it helpful for hypothyroidism and Goitre as well as offering anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic benefits to aid with arthritis. It has anti-bacterial properties to help combat infections from inside out. The Alginic Acid is a dietary fibre that aids in relieving issues of the bowels and heartburn while Fucoidan (another fibre) aids in lowering cholesterol and glucose levels.
